Student Services Goals & Continuous Improvement
Assessment Centered in Student Success and Departmental Growth
As a function of the Vice President’s office, the Student Services Affairs Cabinet (SSAC) is responsible for the administration of the Student Services assessment plan, which aligns with the Highline College Strategic Plan and Institutional Effectiveness Plan. SSAC meets weekly to provide the infrastructure for conducting assessment initiatives that facilitate continuous improvement and departmental effectiveness.
Student Services Goals
In alignment with the college strategic plan, Student Services division goals center student success and are aligned with the Highline College Strategic Goals. On a cyclical basis, departmental IE Plans and Reflections data and outcomes determine if division goals are being met. With the reports (AKA IE Reflections), the division refines the division goals and strategies to ensure resources and priorities are aligned continuously. Institutional Effectiveness
Student Services departmental assessment is coordinated by the lead administrator in each department, designated by their title of Director, Manager or Dean. Each department has a clear foundation in an established mission, identified service populations, and stated goals captured in its Institutional Effectiveness Plan. Departments report their continuous improvement efforts, strategies and outcomes through the submission of the annual Institutional Effectiveness Plan and Institutional Effectiveness Reflection. Division-Wide Mode of Assessment: Student Services Data Dashboard
Student Services strives to ensure all interactions and engagement operations are timely, responsive, accurate, and respectful. In addition with department specific data collection efforts, Student Services developed a data dashboard to collect student feedback via the Student Feedback Survey regarding their experiences. This data is provided to departments on an ongoing basis to inform departmental improvements and division standards of operation. All staff have access to review their department data via the Student Services Data Dashboard (only accessible for Highline College staff and faculty).
