Washington State is Open, What Does that Mean for Highline?

As of June 30, 2021, Governor Jay Inslee has “re-opened” Washington State and I am sure many of you have thought, what does that mean for Highine College for summer and fall quarter? For the past six months our executive leadership have been navigating the CDC Guidelines to reopen Highline’s doors to the community. Student Services have been working on their individual department and building safety plans for providing limited in person services (Advising, Registration, Financial Aid, Cashier, Workforce, WorkFrst/Women’s Programs, Veterans, Counseling, and Running Start).
Highline’s soft re-opening is August 2, 2021 with building 6 doors being open for limited student facing services Monday – Thursday, 10am – 2pm, same will apply for buildings 1 and 8. Virtual services such as zoom lobbies and virtual appointments will continue across campus. Campus hours and service offerings will continue to be evaluated throughout the quarter. For those who choose to come to campus in August, Highline is requiring masks to be worn indoors while on campus. You will be required to check in and out of campus by filling out the self-attestation form. There will be a self-attestation forms for faculty/staff and students. Please visit our Return to Campus webpage for details on Summer and Fall quarters. Additional details will be provided as decisions are still being made for safety guidance and services.
We have been navigating ctcLink since February and I want to thank everyone for your continued grace as there are some departments who have been working in two systems to date to keep our business operations functioning accordingly. Please keep in mind that faculty and staff continue to troubleshoot ctcLink erros as we come across them. These past few months have brought the Highline community closer having to lean on each other learning an entire new system. Thank you for your continued patience. Here’s to summer quarter and slowly opening our doors to you Highline.
